We test hormone levels and other needed values through a combination of saliva and blood testing.

In men, testosterone is the most common hormonal deficiency. This leads to malnutrition, obesity, fatigue, loss of muscle mass, and foggy thinking, to name a few - all leading to accelerated aging.

In women, the most common hormonal deficiency is progesterone. Ever wonder why that tire around the middle appeared and stubbornly decided to stay?

The receptors in our heart, bone, and brain once grabbed at the hormones your body used to make naturally.  When these hormones started to decline, so did the body systems.  For women, menopause means the risk of heart disease shoots right up there equaling the risk for that of men!  Bones weaken and set the stage for osteoporosis.  Dementia risk increases as well.  Restoring the natural hormonal level that was once abundant in the body, bio-identical hormones can continue to do the protective work of balancing and maintaining these important body systems.  Bio-identicals are derived from plants, and are prescribed at a level that mimics what your body made naturally.  In contrast, there is nothing natural about the chemical hormone compounds that have been around for decades, some of which are derived from the urine of pregnant horses.  Then, this horse derived medicine is manufactured into a dose that you must fit - whether it is too little or too large of a dose.   Here's an analogy I often use when comparing chemical hormones to natural bio-identical hormones: You're given a choice - you can get a custom fit pair of jeans (like bio-identicals), OR, you can choose from four sizes of jeans, even if the size isn't even close to what you need! (chemical hormones). What if the jeans are sized 2, 10,18 or 24? Wouldn't you want the pair of jeans with the custom fit? Of course, because you know you will feel and look your best in the custom fit jeans!

Once hormone restoration is achieved, patients feel ready to do more.  They often have more energy and a more balanced, brighter outlook.  Most want to now work on weight loss, and seek dietary guidance to look and feel their best.  Many want to lower their cholesterol and blood pressure. At Integrative Healthcare, we believe that nutrition is the fundamental core to our health and healing.  One of the ways to jump start this healing process is through the modified hCG diet.   We have adapted this well-known plan to include two critical phases. Tracey Glenn NP created this dietary aftercare out of necessity.  People wanted to not only know how to loose the weight, but how to grocery shop and eat in order to keep the weight gone for good. We offer tailored solutions for specific needs. For most patients, hormonal imbalance has been present for years, showing outwardly in extra pounds.

Integrative Healthcare provides the following:

• Female and Male Hormonal Restoration
• Adrenal fatigue treatment
  
• Thyroid imbalance testing, diagnosis and treatment

1. This is done through topical, oral, and rapid dissolve tablets that are plant derived, natural hormones compounded individually according to provide the perfect fit for each individual.
2. Nutritional assessment and education on diet and specific dietary supplements (such as Vitamin D, Omega fatty acids, and minerals)
3. Physical restoration through yoga, walking, Tai-chi or home exercises.

As many insurances do not recognize Bio-identical Hormone Therapy, a charge sheet or "super bill" receipt will be generated for patients with private insurance to submit to their insurance carrier for possible reimbursement.  Insurances Do recognize testing and treatment for the thyroid, and this is generally covered during the course of the regular office visit.

Tracey Glenn NP offers a 30 minute visit to review lab work and prescriptions from other physicians/providers, and to review the Bio-identical hormone testing result.  (our office will supply the saliva test kit to you).

The full Bio-identical hormone evaluation is divided among three components as follows:

1. Initial Evaluation
   Review intake form, lab work and prescriptions from other physicians/providers, hormonal symptom evaluation, depression/anxiety evaluation.
2. Saliva/Blood Testing
   - Saliva tests: $150
   Progesterone, estrogens, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol
   - Blood test (thyroid):  $ varies with lab, reimbursed by insurance
   
3. Continue Maintenance
   
   

Compounded natural hormones and dietary supplements will be a separate cost and are not included in the fees noted above.
